Our Curriculum

Bessemer Preschool uses a play-based approach to learning. Skills taught inside the classroom are taught through play and playful activities. Our curriculum was designed by Jamie White @ Play to Learn Preschool in Leesburg, Virginia. She and her co- teacher Gemma opened Play to Learn preschool in 2005 and have been sharing ideas and inspirations on Facebook, Instagram and on the school website for both fellow teachers, and parents. After seeing the amazing program she has put together, it was an easy decision to model our program after hers and use the curriculum she has created to teach our students. We love watching our students learn and grow using the themes, circle time units, centers, name songs, and more Jamie has put together. The curriculum is also flexible anough to allow our teachers to customize the lessons and centers to the unique needs of our students.
